China

  1. I Heart Shanghai

This photo I took a little over a month ago in Shanghai when it was pouring rain. It's a pretty cool city but I was a little sketched out when they wanted my passport number to use the hotel's Internet. Other than that, the food is great, and people seem friendly enough despite the cultural differences of what we consider public courtesy. And when ever I asked someone for help they were always happy to assist. What was funny though, is even in China, I'd still see giant poster of Brad Pitt and other celebrities advertising various brand names. You just can't get away from that I guess.

  2. Into The Rain in Shanghai

The one day I was in Shanghai it was pouring rain. I was standing in this spot next to Sephora for some shelter when I looked up and saw the light shining onto the rain that was coming down off the building. I thought it looked pretty cool so I tried to see if I could point my camera up into the sky without getting any drops on the lens. The building was directing the rain sort of away from the walls so I was able to snap a few without a single drop hitting my lens.

  3. Shanghai Lights

The city of Shanghai China is a pretty awesome place. I wasn't expecting it to be as cool as it was. The whole time I was there I couldn't stop thinking about how it reminded me of Blade Runner. It was pouring rain the whole time causing the wet streets to reflect all the neon Congee signs. Which was sort of the look of the Blade Runner cities.

This was also my first time doing photography in the pouring rain. I got soaked, my camera got soaked. I tried to keep my umbrella above my gear but when shooting with a really wide lens, it kept getting in the shot. At the end of the day only one buttons wasn't working on the camera, which was fine the next day when everything dried out. Seems like my trusty ol Canon 5Dmkii can handle anything.
