For those waiting for the Fuji X100T Thumbrest by Lensmate, It looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer.
Here is what Lensmate sent me this morning.
Dear Lensmate Customers,
I am writing from my personal email in case some of you have spam blockers.
It appears that we were overly optimistic in December on our estimated Pre-order date of Mid January for the Lensmate Fujifilm X100T Thumbrest as our manufacture has had to make scheduling adjustments of 3 to 3 1/2 weeks due to the large volume of work at the end of last year and the Holiday down time.
We appreciate your patience and will email our interested parties list regarding Pre-orders once we have the raw parts in hand. Shipping would be 10 days to 2 weeks later as the raw parts need to be Bead-Blasted, Anodized, the custom inserts attached and thumbrests packaged.
In our next email we will include drawings or photos of the X100T Thumbrest in it’s raw state so you will know what you are ordering ahead of time.
There is an official Thumbrest made by Fujifilm. It costs about $90.00 maybe less because of the exchange rates, but I haven’t been able to find it in any western civilization. And deliveries from Japan usually take about two to three weeks and shipping is expensive. So we might as well wait I guess. However, if lensmate is delayed again, I’ll be in Japan around Feb-March so I can always pick one up out there and let you know how it is.
