This photo was taken during the Spring in Venice Beach when we actually get some clouds. This was my first time using my ND500. It's a pretty cool filter. It cuts down the light by 9 stops so you can get a really slow shutter like in this shot. It's really the only way to get a shot like this before the sun has fully set.
The only draw back is it's hard to see through the thing. It's kind of like looking through a welding mask. It's possible to see enough of the basic shapes of a scene to at least frame it up. But I did miss my focus on a few other really nice setups that I'm kind of bummed about.
