Two New Lenses From Sony – FE 50mm f1.4 & FE 70-200mm f2.8 GM

Sony has put out two new full frame E-Mount lenses, the  50mm f1.4 and the 70-200mm f2.8 GM lens. Two very needed lenses that will give Sony shooters some amazing capabilities without having to use third party gear.

Overview

This has been a lens we’ve / I’ve been waiting for. Right now there is only a 50mm f1.8, a 55 f1.8 and a Loxia 50mm f1.8, but nothing any faster. And while f1.8 on a 50mm full frame lens is fantastic, f1.4 just gives you that extra little bit to make the difference.

The lens also has an eleven blade circular diaphragm!

With the f1.4 aperture eleven blade circular diaphragm, this lens should have some amazing bokeh across all the apertures instead of just wide open like most rounded aperture with less blades.

Overview

This was a missing lens from Sony’s lineup for quite some time and it’s finally here. The 70-200mm f2.8 is a bread and butter lens for many full frame shooters kits. I used my Canon 70-200mm f2.8 to death and it will be nice to no longer have to use a metabones adapter to get this zoom range and this low aperture.
