Sony 16-35mm F4 FE T* Lens Review & Sample Photos

I hate that I didn't buy this lens sooner. It's a perfect match for the Sony A7(r)(s) II series of cameras both old and new and I'm absolutely in love with it. The lens is only F4, but I would like to think a lens like this would be used mostly by landscape or architecture photographers where wider apertures would not really be needed. But for those occasions when you do need the lens in low light and are going handheld, the OSS saves the day. There are a lot of things I love about this lens, and very few things I don't like, making this lens one of my favorite, go-to lenses with the Sony A7r II.

Fujifilm XF 56mm f1.2 R Lens Review & Sample Photos

The Fujifilm XF 56mm f1.2 R lens is an absolutely phenomenal that is extremely fast with beautiful bokeh and a 7-blade rounded aperture at f1.2. The lens is optically near perfect and is very well-built with an all metal barrel. It does have somewhat of a high element count as a tradeoff to great corner to corner sharpness and chromatic aberration control, so it does produce a slightly more ethereal bokeh compared to a lens like the 34mm f1.4 and is slightly softer in terms of micro-contrast. Because of the 7-blade aperture, bokeh will get a little busy compared to a lens like the Fujifilm 60mm f2.4 with its 9 blade aperture. The only real draw back is the fly-by-wire autofocus and plastic lens hood.

Tamron 15-30mm f2.8 Detailed Review & Sample Images

The new Tamron's 15-35mm f2.8 Ultra-Wide Zoom lens has now shipped and I've been lucky enough to get my hands on one. This is the latest and greatest from Tamron and is designed to feed the hungry 50 megapixels on the new Canon 5Ds and other high megapixel cameras. To see how true this claim is, I've spent the last few days testing this lens with both the Canon 5Dmkii and the Sony A7r with the metabones MKIII adapter.
