Landscape Photography Portfolio | Western USA & Japan

My approach to landscape photography is deeply rooted in a cinematic background. With a degree in Film Studies from UCSD and over two decades of professional experience as a video editor and photographer in Los Angeles, I approach every scene through the lens of storytelling and composition. While my technical reviews on this site focus on the ‘how’ of camera sensors and lens optics, this portfolio represents the ‘why’—the moments of stillness and natural beauty that drive my passion for imaging.

Technical Artist

This collection spans two distinct worlds: the vibrant, sun-drenched coasts of Southern California and the Western United States (from Santa Monica to New Mexico) and the ethereal, historic textures of Japan (including Kyoto and Yutoku Inari). Whether I am shooting on high-resolution mirrorless systems or experimenting with vintage film simulations, my goal is to capture the unique light and mood of these environments with technical precision and artistic intent. I invite you to explore these galleries, which serve as both a personal journal of my travels and a testament to the gear I test.
