Baby Number Two | What Camera Did I Use?

Epic, monumental life changing events, like a new baby being born, always begs that really big question, "what camera should I bring?" During the delivery and for the few days while my wife was recovering, I brought along several cameras, but only used a few. Don't worry, I'm not sharing any gross newborn baby photos. :)

A Weekend With The Fam | Fujifilm X-T2

Of course when I talk about family I'm referring to my Fujifilm X-T2 and X-Pro2, but I guess my natural family was there too. They've actually been all over the place these last few months, busy getting houses fixed, traveling, working etc. We finally had a chance to all meet up after something like 5 months and my daughter got a chance to show them what the terrible twos is really all about. Or for my oldest brother, I guess a reminder. Actually the terrible twos for his daughters never really ended. :)

It's sometimes fun to take the most mundane moments in the day and try to see if you can make anything interesting out of them with photography. Often as photographers we get stuck thinking we need to travel to capture life's great and unique moments, not realizing we all live as part of our own unique culture and it's around us everyday even in our own back yard - in my case, a one bedroom apartment and a deck in West Los Angeles.

I finally decided to buy the exquisite Fujifilm 90mm f2 and have been testing it thoroughly around town and at the pumpkin patch with the kids. I have to say, this thing is amazing and is one of Fujifilms best lenses in my opinion. Everything about it is just incredible.

Mastering Manual Focus | Fujifilm XT2

Lately I've been shooting quite a bit with the Helios 44-2 and other old vintage m42 manual focus lenses from the 80's. While shooting with manual lenses takes more time and isn't always as precise, it's much more rewarding and you feel like you have complete control of every shot you take.

Fujifilm X-Pro 2 | Beautiful Imperfections

The Fujifilm X-Pro 2 as of late, has been my favorite camera to use for incidental photography. I kind of just leave it around so it's very accessible, near the front door or wherever and grab it whenever I go outside. Aside from my X100F, it's become my grab it and go camera with the advantage of swapping lenses depending on the mood I'm in.
