7 Must Have Accessories Fujifilm X-H2

Accessories are a great way to expand the functionality of the Fujifilm X-H2. I usually start off my cameras with some basic protective accessories like screen protectors and often some sort of body case.

I’ve compiled this list of accessories that would go great with the Fujifilm X-H2, including mics, cases, batteries, and cleaning supplies.

The Fujifilm X-H2 uses the FUJIFILM NP-W235 Lithium-Ion Battery battery.

Official Fujifilm NP-W235 Battery

The Fujifilm NP-W 235 Battery is the official Li-ion battery for the Fujifilm X-H2. It has a large capacity of 2200 mAh and 7.6V of power. Having a few official batteries on hand is ideal for photographers.

I rarely use more than one battery in a single evening, but for all-day shoots, I usually need two.

For professional shooting, it’s best to use all official batteries to minimize any risk of compatibility issues, which have been reported with some third-party batteries on other camera brands. This is especially important if you’re shooting video, as I have found sometimes third-party batteries can be glitchy.

4. Grips / Cases

SmallRig X-H2 Cage For Fujifilm X-H2

SmallRig makes some great cages and grips, and I’ve used them on a few cameras now. This form-fitting cage is made from durable aluminum and provides full protection from daily wear and tear while allowing access to all functions, displays, ports, and batteries.

If you shoot a lot of flash photography or flash with street photography, you can use the SmallRig cage to mount a flash off to the side. I do this on some of my cameras sometimes, but you’ll need to get a cable for the flash trigger.

5. Mist Filters / Diffusion Filters

With the help of mist filters, you can add a cinematic touch to your videos and photos. I like the Cinebloom filters, the Tiffen filters, and occasionally, I’ll use the K&F Shimmer filter.

For shooting at night I recommend going with a weaker effect and for the day I recommend a stronger effect.

Moment CineBloom Diffusion Filter

The uncoated glass of these filters enhances shots with added reflections and some diffusion effects. The brass filter threads ensure a smooth, seamless experience. For general photography, a good starting point is 10% power, resulting in a loss of about 1/3 stop or less light.

Remember to store your brush in its case and keep the bristles clean to make it last a long time. I’ve used a sensor brush for a few years and hardly ever need wet sensor swabs. It’s the best way to keep your camera’s sensor looking and working like new!
