7 Must Have Accessories Fujifilm X-H2

  • February 2, 2023
  • AGriffin

The right accessories can greatly impact the quality and outcome of your photography, whether you’re an experienced photographer or a beginner. Choosing the best accessories for your Fuji X-H2, such as lens filters and camera straps, can enhance the camera’s functionality, reliability, and enhance your creative journey.

Here are some of my go-to accessories.

1. Screen Protector For Fujifilm X-H2

Rieibi X-H2 Screen Protector – 3 Pack 0.3mm 9H Hardness

Fujifilm X-H2s Screen ProtectorThe Rieibi X-H2 Screen Protector 3 Pack is a popular choice for photographers who need a screen protector for their X-H2. It comes with 3 tempered glass pieces of 0.3mm thickness and 9H hardness, and extra top display covers. The 9H hardness is a reliable standard for camera screen protectors, ensuring durable protection. With two extra screen protectors, you have backups for when the protector chip or crack which often happens over time.

Note: Replacing 9H protectors can be difficult, but using a hair dryer to apply heat beforehand can make it easier.

2. Batteries For The Fujifilm X-H2

The Fujifilm X-H2 uses the FUJIFILM NP-W235 Lithium-Ion Battery battery.

Official Fujifilm NP-W235 Battery

Official Fujifilm NP-W235 Battery

The Fujifilm NP-W 235 Battery is the preferred Li-ion battery for the Fujifilm X-H2, with a large capacity of 2200 mAh and 7.6V of power. For photographers, having a few official batteries on hand is ideal. I rarely use one battery in a single days usage, but for peace of mind, I keep extras in my bag just in case. For professional shooting, it’s best to use all official batteries to minimize any risk of compatibility issues, which have been reported with some third-party batteries on other camera brands.

Available At: Amazon / Adorama / B&H

FUJIFILM BC-W235 Dual Battery Charger

FUJIFILM BC-W235 Dual Battery Charger

The FUJIFILM BC-W235 Dual Battery Charger allows you to charge two NP-W235 batteries at the same time, maximizing your charging efficiency. You can monitor the charging progress of both batteries through the illuminated display. This charger is perfect for traveling photographers who need to quickly and dependably charge multiple batteries.

Available At: Amazon / Adorama / B&H

Best Third-Party Batteries Wasabi

Wasabi Third-Party batteries Fujifilm x-t5

If you’re looking for the best third-party battery for your Fujifilm X-H2, consider the Wasabi NP-W 235. Known for producing top-quality batteries, Wasabi is a reliable brand in the industry.

Another great choice is the Watson or SmallRig battery if you’re shopping at B&H.

Available At: Amazon

3. Memory Cards

Best Memory Card Fujifilm X-T6Finding the right memory cards for your Fujifilm X-H2 can be overwhelming, but this guide can help make the decision easier. Use it as your trusted advisor and choose a high-quality option with ease. Many of the most popular memory cards have been tested on the Fujifilm X-H2s, so you can be confident in your choice.

There will be some slight difference between the X-H2s and X-H2 but the hardware is mostly the same regarding memory card access.

4. Grips / Cases

Camera cages and grips for the Fujifilm X-H2 improve handling and protect the camera from impacts. Fujifilm offers two vertical battery grips with different features. Very useful for improving the grip for shooting in tough conditions or with big lenses, balancing the camera, and reducing hand fatigue.

SmallRig X-H2 Cage For Fujifilm X-H2

Small Rig Cage X-H2sProtect and enhance your FUJIFILM X-H2 with SmallRig’s Camera Cage. This form-fitting cage is made from durable aluminum and provides full protection from daily wear and tear while still providing access to all functions, displays, ports, and batteries.

FUJIFILM VG-XH Vertical Battery Grip

FUJIFILM VG-XH Vertical Battery GripThe Fujifilm VG-XH Vertical Battery Grip is specifically designed for the FUJIFILM X-H2 and X-H2s mirrorless cameras.

The battery grip for the Fujifilm X-H2 enhances vertical shooting and extends battery life by holding two NP-W235 rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. Its ergonomic design features a comfortable shape with a secondary shutter release button, focus lever, AE-L button, AF-ON button, front and rear command dials, and Q button, mimicking the camera’s layout for easy handling.

Yes it will work with the Fujifilm X-H2, and does not come with an extra battery.

FUJIFILM FT-XH File Transmitter Grip

FUJIFILM FT-XH File Transmitter GripThe Fujifilm FT-XH File Transmitter Grip is a specialized accessory for the Fujifilm X-H2 mirrorless camera, enhancing its networking capabilities with speedy Wi-Fi connectivity (up to 600 Mb/s) and wired LAN options for tethered shooting. It doubles as a battery grip for vertical shooting and extended battery life and features physical controls, such as a secondary shutter button, focus lever, and buttons for easy access to camera functions.

This will work with the Fujifilm X-H2, and does not come with an extra battery.

5. Mist Filters / Diffusion Filters

Maximize your night cityscape photography and add a cinematic touch to your videos and photos with the help of mist filters. My preferred options are the uncoated Cinebloom filters that bring a luminous touch and reflections and the coated black mist filters from Tiffen, which offer a controlled and predictable look.

Moment CineBloom Diffusion Filter

Cinebloom Diffusion Filter

Add a luminous touch to your cityscape night photography and videos with Moment Cinebloom Diffusion Filters. The uncoated glass of these filters enhances shots with added reflections, providing a cinematic feel. The brass filter threads ensure a smooth, seamless experience. For general photography, a good starting point is 10% power, which results in a loss of about 1/3 stop or less of light.

See my full Moment Cinebloom filter review.

Available At: Amazon / Adorama / B&H

Tiffen Black Pro Mist Filter

Tiffen Black Pro Mist

The Tiffen Black Pro Mist Filter is a specially designed coated filter that adds a cinematic touch to your photos and videos. Its nanoparticle configuration softens highlights, reduces contrast, and creates a beautiful halo effect.

For those who are new to using the filter, I suggest starting with a 1/4 power. This provides a noticeable effect without being too overpowering, but it will likely result in a loss of about 1/3 of a stop of light or less.

6. Best Straps

Using a camera strap with the Fujifilm X-H2 enhances the overall shooting experience, combining comfort and accessibility. With a variety of styles and materials, from luxurious leather to soft fabrics, photographers can personalize their cameras to reflect their unique style. A good strap offers secure and convenient carrying, freeing up hands for other tasks.

Full Straps Synthetic

Peak Design offers a variety of excellent straps for Fujifilm mirrorless cameras. I frequently utilize the Clutch hand strap combined with the Slide strap.

Peak Design Clutch Camera Strap

Peak Design Clutch

The Peak Design Clutch Camera Strap is an ideal option for those seeking a secure grip and easy attachment/detachment of their camera. It features an Arca-Swiss base plate, additional loops for secondary strap options, and adjustable side elements, providing customizable versatility.

Peak Design Slide Lite

Full Leather Strap

I’ve tested a variety of stylish leather straps that complement the Fuji X-H2 camera. Although they come at a premium price, they are made of genuine leather, making them durable and long-lasting with proper maintenance. Here are the brands that impressed me.

  • Tap and Dye – Camera Straps and Wrist Straps -The Tap & Dye camera straps are fashionable and top-notch. They offer a variety of designs made from full-grain and top-grain leather, which may be stiff initially but will soften with use. A great choice for camera straps.
  • Gordy’s – Horizontal / Vertical / Sling –

Gordy’s straps are known for their excellent craftsmanship and charming rustic appearance. Built for durability, they provide robustness and reliability, making them an excellent choice for those seeking a unique touch.

  • HardGraft – Instant Camera Strap – HardGraft produces exceptional quality straps. The Re-Process strap has been a trustworthy option for me and my Fujifilm X-Pro2 for years. With numerous options available, HardGraft is a definite consideration for those looking for a top-notch camera strap.
  • Luigicases – Luigi’s deluxe camera straps are known for their superior quality and are highly recommended by photographers. Although their website may appear primative, their straps can still be easily located through a simple Google search or on eBay.

Rope Camera Straps

Vi Vante Luxury Sheetline Rope Strap

Vi Vante Rope StrapI exclusively use the Vi Vante Luxury Sheetline Rope as my camera strap for the Leica M11. It measures 47″ in length but cannot be customized in size so it’s best for those who are tall or prefer cross-carry. While my friends use other rope straps, I have limited experience with them, but for the most part, they are functionally all pretty similar.

7. Cleaning Supplies

It’s very important to use the right cleaning tools for your Fujifilm X-H2 camera. These tools, like cleaning cloths and air blowers, help keep your camera clean and free from dirt and fingerprints. This will keep your camera looking and working great!

Here is a list of the best cleaning supplies for your Fujifilm X-H2.

I have a whole article on cleaning accessories and there are a few that you absolutely should have no matter what. If you want to see more accessories for wet sensor cleaning, check out this guide to cleaning accessories here.

Micro-Fiber Cleaning Cloths 6-Pack

Keeping your lenses clean is a snap with these cleaning must-haves. They do an amazing job of getting rid of dirt, dust, and fingerprints without leaving any traces behind. Plus, you can stock up with a bulk purchase, like a 6-pack, so you always have some on hand. That’s what we call a win-win!

Available At: Amazon

Rocket Air Blaster

These air blasters stand out from the rest because of their fins that let them sit upright on your desk. No more rolling around and getting in the way while you work.

The medium size is just right, but they come in different sizes so you can choose the perfect one for your needs. No matter what size you choose, the Rocket Air Blasters are sure to be a blast!

Available At: Amazon

Sensor Brush

Keep your camera’s sensor spotless with sensor brushes! These brushes are great at getting rid of dirt and dust that air blasters just can’t remove.

Don’t forget to store your brush in its case and keep the bristles clean so it lasts a long time. I’ve been using a sensor brush for a few years now and I hardly ever need to use wet sensor swabs. It’s the best way to keep your camera’s sensor looking and working like new!

Available At: Amazon

Nitecore BB2 Electric Blower

BB2 BlowerThe Nitecore BB2 Electric Blower is a must-have tool for photographers and videographers, especially those who take pictures of products. Its strong airflow makes it perfect for cleaning dust and debris from cameras and lenses. It’s small, light, and can be recharged, making it perfect to bring on photo shoots. Both professionals and people who are new to photography will find it helpful.
