The real deals are on the Simera 28mm, 35mm, and 75mm, and on the Eureka 50mm. The Ksana lenses and the Simera 50mm get only modest cuts. They’re still worth buying if you want them, but don’t expect a steal.

The Thypoch lenses I’ve reviewed

I’ve shot four Thypoch lenses extensively. Here’s where each one lands:

  • Thypoch Simera 28mm f/1.4 Review: This is one of my favorite M-mount lenses, and the most practically useful focal length Thypoch makes. I’ve shot it a lot on both the M11 and the X-E5. At $399 it’s the easiest recommendation in this sale. If you only buy one, buy this one.
  • Thypoch Simera 75mm f/1.4 Review: I’ve also shot the Voigtländer 75mm f/1.5 and the Kipon 75mm f/2.4. Of the three, the Simera is the best built and the most capable wide open. At $649, $200 off its regular price, it’s an easy call.
  • Thypoch Ksana 35mm f/2 ASPH Review: This is a compact everyday-carry 35mm. Its discount is the smallest of the sale, but it’s the easiest lens of the bunch to leave on the camera.
  • Thypoch Ksana 21mm f/3.5 Review: It’s genuinely good for what it is, but it is a compact, so there are real optical limitations, so read the review before you buy.

If you’re shooting Fujifilm and want to put any of these M-mount lenses on an X body, I’ve also written about adapting Leica M lenses to Fujifilm the right way. If you’d rather skip a separate adapter, the Simera 28mm also comes in a native X-mount version.

Thypoch has quietly become one of the more interesting third-party lens makers. These lenses are built well, they have character without being gimmicky, and they’re priced well below what Leica charges for similar focal lengths. If you’ve been waiting for a discount, this is it.
