The Rolling Rice Fields of Bali

This is taken on the 800-meter hike to the Sari Organik Cafe in the middle of the Rice Fields of Bali. It was quite a hike that I did in sandals, injuring my foot in the process. But it was well worth it. I got many great shots from this hike. It was one of those lucky times of day when the clouds were doing something interesting.

This shot is from a higher elevation on the path that follows the edge of the Takachiho Gorge. The Takachiho Gorge is located on Kyushu Island in the Miyazaki Prefecture of Southern Japan. This gorge is a natural wonder formed by volcanic eruptions and erosion. There are several great spots to take photos, from up here above, and from down below. There are also trailers around where you can find some different views.

This photo shows Kawabata Street in the downtown area of Fukuoka Japan. It’s close to Canal City in the Nakasu district. The Kawabata Street is a row of various shops under a dome roof. If you like exploring some Japanese stores and culture this is a good spot.

This photo shows the Manai Falls of the Takachiho Gorge. It’s on Kyushu Island in the Miyazaki Prefecture of Southern Japan. This place surprised me with how cool it was in real life. This area is stunning, especially in the fall. The Manai Waterfall is one of the top 100 falls in Japan. You can rent small row boats and paddle through them, which is how I got this photo.

The area is known for its rice-farming culture and its stunning scenery. Rice fields are nestled among volcanic mountains that are covered with green forests.

Once Upon a Time, There was the Grand Canyon

This is a photo of the Grand Canyon. I think it was Navajo Point, but I'm not positive. This and Mather Point are my two favorite spots so far. Eventually, I want to see the Grand Canyon from the north side. Lots of cool stuff up there, but it's a bit more out of the way. I think this spot is only like four hours or so from Las Vegas, making it about eight or nine hours from my house in Los Angeles.

The Creole Cafe of Old Town San Diego

This is a Night HDR photo. It's more difficult to shoot HDR once it's completely dark. The color balance is really hard to get right since there is no point of reference. You have to experiment a lot and go for more of a look. I guess that's true for a lot of HDR photography.
