It’s always wise to have at least one backup battery. I usually rely on a single battery throughout the day and keep one or two third-party batteries as spares, which I rarely need.
However, if your work requires extensive battery usage, having two official Sony batteries might be prudent. Third-party batteries can sometimes face compatibility issues, and Sony firmware updates might affect their performance.

Third-Party Batteries
Third-party batteries are never as good as official batteries, and choosing a good or bad battery is sometimes more like a dice roll.
Typically, third-party batteries require breaking in by charging them fully and depleting them several times before functioning at their best.

Based in California, Wasabi is an excellent third-party battery manufacturer. Their batteries are rated at 7.2V and 2000mAh, slightly lower than the official batteries, but they come at a fraction of the price. Additionally, the leather case provides extra grip and extends the grip area, allowing the pinky finger to find a comfortable resting place. |
