All the cool Viltrox lenses that came out for Fujifilm this year, are now available for the Sony APS-C system.
The Three Musketeers they call them.
It’s lenses like this that keep me shooting APS-C. You can get such an incredibly small and lightweight package, but I actually don’t own any of these lenses yet.
I’ve been personally waiting to see what Tokina does since they will share the same optical formula with their little Musketeers. Tokina has a slightly different way of doing autofocus and different coatings and builds which will likely cost a little bit more. I’ll personally wait to see which brand makes the coolest flares and those are the lenses I’ll go with 🙂 There could also be a different contrast profile with the different coatings used.
The optical formula for these Viltrox lenses is solid though and a lot of people like them. With the 10 elements, in these designs, you should expect a pretty well-corrected lens, and the MTF charts look promising.
