Lexar has recently launched an exciting trio of products: the Lexar SILVER PLUS V30 A2 MicroSD card, the Lexar SILVER PLUS v30 SD card, and the all-new Lexar SD Card Adapter. This versatile adapter serves as a thumbstick and doubles up as a memory card reader.
Lexar sent me these products for evaluation, but you can find them at B&H Photo and Amazon.

Lexar SILVER PLUS V30 SD Card – B&H
I recently benchmarked the Lexar SILVER PLUS microSD memory card for the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro Handheld. It has some of the best performance specs, making it a great option for these portable gaming consoles.
I’ve also released a new list compiling all the best microSD memory cards with benchmarks. The Lexar MicroSD SILVER PLUS card had the best random read and write speeds but also had very good write speeds at 151 MB/s and great read speeds at 177MB/s when tested with the AJA system test on Windows 11.
When looking at the SD card benchmarks, the Silver Plus v30 UHS-I SD card hit write speeds of 166MB/s and read speeds of 177MB/s, making it the fastest UHS-I SD card at the moment. I’m still in the process of updating a few more brands on my lists, but 166MB/s write and 177MB/s read is a pretty insane performance for a UHS-I SD card. I never expected to see these speeds from the UHS-I interface.
If you’re looking for a new card, check out this new MicroSD card or the SD SILVER PLUS UHS-I SD card.
But what else is really cool is that Lexar sent me this new adapter.

I almost didn’t even open this since I didn’t think I needed it, but this new adapter has made my life so much easier for a few reasons.
- It has a built-in microSD card slot and an SD card slot. This allows me to throw a microSD card in the adapter and use it as permanent storage, turning it into a thumb drive and functioning as a full-size SD card reader.
- It has USB-C and USB-A male connectors, making it super easy to transfer files between machines without needing extra adapters. As someone who uses a Windows 11 PC, Macbook Pro, and Mac Mini for work, I don’t always have free ports of certain types open, so this has made my life so convenient.
So now I’m using this adapter for all my large file transfers between machines, and it’s so much faster than trying to do it over the network or through cloud services like Dropbox or Synology Drive, which is what I always had to do before.
