Although the Canon T7 and T6 camera series are somewhat dated, there are still excellent accessories available to enhance their functionality. Explore this comprehensive list of top accessories for the Canon T7i, T6i, T6s, and the smaller T6.

Camera Accessories & Essentials

Best Screen Protector For The Canon T7i / T6i and T6s

The Canon T7i, T6i, and T6s all share the same screen, so any screen protector you buy for one works for the other. The ExpertShield screen protectors are great because they back their lifetime warranty and their customer service is easy to work with and friendly. Sometimes their screens have issues but they’ll send you a new one with no problem.

Patchwork ITG also makes a great screen protector if you’re looking for something that’s made of hard glass. ExpertShield sometimes carries hard glass but I get a lot of people telling me they love their Patchwork so I’ve decided to start including them.

ExpertShield Screen Protector Crystal Clear – Amazon

Canon T6 Screen Protector

The Canon T6 uses a different screen protector. Slightly different size.

ULBTER Screen Protector Crystal Clear – Amazon

Best Batteries Canon T7i, T6i, T6s

The Canon T7i, T6i, and T6s share the same battery but the Canon T6 uses a different one.

Canon Battery Pack LP-E17

Official Canon Batteries Canon T7i, T6i, T6s The official LP-E17 battery works for the Canon T7i, T6i and T6s. One battery should last a few days with casual shooting. For video, you’ll go through batteries much quicker. The Canon LP-E17 batteries also do not slowly discharge over time when idle so you can expect to always have power when you pick up your camera. Rated at 7.2 V, 1040mAh

Available At: Amazon / B&H

Wasabi (2-Pack) w/charger

Wasabi makes a great third-party battery. I haven’t had any issues with their batteries lately and they are a great option for a second and third battery. The kit comes with a charger with several charging accessories.

Available At: Amazon

Canon BG-E18 Battery Grip For The Canon T6i, T6s

This is the official Canon vertical battery grip for the T6i and T6s. Third-party grips usually suck and I haven’t heard of any good ones for the Canon yet.

Available At: Amazon

Canon T6 Batteries & Chargers

These are the batteries and grips for the Canon T6, these will not work on the T6i and T6s.

Canon Battery Pack LP-E10

The official LP-E10 battery for the Canon T6 is slightly smaller than the T7i and T6i batteries. Although the LP-E10 battery is slightly smaller in size and capacity, it should still give a few days of casual use in the Canon T6. Rated at 7.4V, 860.00 mAh-

Available At: Amazon

Wasabi Power Battery (2-Pack) and Dual Charger for Canon LP-E10

The Wasabi 2-pack LP-E10 batteries are great backup batteries or great batteries for someone looking to have a few extras. Wasabi batteries have gotten better over the years and they do a great job in holding their charge so a charged battery will stay charged for some time when not in use. This kit comes with a charger and a few charger accessories.

Available At: Amazon

Canon LC-E10 Battery Charger

The official Canon charger for LC-E10 batteries. This will only work on the LC-E10 batteries for the Canon T6.

The Official Canon charger is rated to give the perfect charge for LC-E10 batteries. Sometimes third-party chargers do not charge the batteries properly and can cause battery performance to deteriorate over time.

Available At: Amazon

Best Memory Cards For The Canon T7i, T6i, T6s and T6

Memory cards perform slightly differently depending on the camera. The Canon T7i has an all-new processor and has overall much better performance.

All these cameras still only use the UHS-I memory card interface and there will be no reason to buy UHS-II memory cards.

These are the top three best performers between each of these cameras, but it varies between cameras.

Sandisk Extreme Pro U3 64GB – Amazon

Kingston U3 64GB – Amazon

Samsung Pro 64GB U3 – Amazon

To see more information on which memory card you should buy for your camera, see the memory card articles for your camera.

Shutter Remotes

Progo Wired Remote Shutter

This is a very simple third-party shutter release. For Canon Rebel Cameras.

Available At: Amazon

Time-Lapse Remotes

Canon TC-80N3 Timer Remote Control

If you want to use Canon’s really nice shutter remote with time-lapse features for the Canon T7i, T6s, and T6i,  you’ll need to get an adapter cable.

Available At: Amazon

Canon T7i, T6i, T6s, T6 Camera Flashes

While Canon makes some cool Speedlites, there are a few much better options out there that work just as well.

I’ll list the Canon Speedlites and I’ve had the 580EX II for years with no complaints, but recently I started using the Goddox and I am very happy with the price and quality of the light.

Godox TT685C

The Godox TT685C is a TTL flash that is without a doubt the best bang for the buck Speedlite for Fujifilm. This is also the only unit that has +- 5-stop of exposure comp with HSS. The build quality is good, but the instruction manual sucks. The only problem I’ve experienced with this flash is it’s a little difficult to press into the hot shoe of the camera.

Available At: Amazon

Godox X2TC Transmitter

The Godox X2TC Transmitter is for the Godox Speedlights. It takes 2xAA batteries and has everything you need to get you started using your TT685C. Some complain that you need to be more than 3 feet away for the Speedlight for consistent performance. I haven’t had issues yet.

Available At: Amazon

Godox Xpro-C Transmitter

The latest transmitter for Godox Speedlights. The XPro-C has a larger display for easier operation and a few more options and controls.

Available At: Amazon

Canon Speedlites

I’ll list the Canon Speedlite just because I know a lot of people want to have the real thing. But if you’re just starting out the Godox system above is fantastic and will get the job done.

Canon Speedlite 580EX-II – Amazon – I have this flash and still use it all the time. It’s old but I love it!

Cleaning Supplies

You can never have too many cleaning cloths. These get dirty and stop working well on lenses, so it’s nice to always have a fresh backup.

(6 Pack) MagicFiber® Premium Microfiber Cleaning Cloths

Cleaning clothes eventually gets dirty over time and stops being as effective. I find if you use a microfiber cloth on your rear screen which is often in contact with the body oil from your face it will then transfer that same body oil to your lens when you try to clean the front or rear element. Because of this, having several cleaning cloths is never a bad idea.

Available At: Amazon

Rocket Air Blasters

Rocket Air blasters are a must-have cleaning accessory. They are great for removing dust from UV filter lenses and camera sensors. This is the best way to keep your gear clean. Don’t forget to keep the backside of your lens caps clean as well.

Rocket Air Small At – Amazon

Rocket Air Medium At – Amazon

 Sensor Brush APS-C

Sometimes you’ll need a bit more to get a stubborn piece of dust off your sensor. That’s when the sensor brush works great.

Available At: Amazon

Best Accessories For The Canon T7i, T6i, T6s, T6 Conclusions

There are a lot of great accessories, some by Canon and some third-party. Canon often prices their accessories a little high but it’s usually worth it. A lot of the third-party accessories are hit and miss but every once in a while something good shows up, like remote camera triggers and camera flashes.
