Best Accessories Fujifilm X-T200

  • January 23, 2022
  • AGriffin

The X-T200 is here and is better than ever. I actually still have my X-T100 and believe it or not there was actually a lot of really cool accessories for that camera, which honestly, is one of Fujifilm’s nicest looking cameras.

In this list, I share all the best essential accessories, things you might need like screen protectors, batteries and memory cards, as well as some cool accessories for customizing the look and usability of your camera.

Fujifilm X-T200 – Amazon / Adorama / BHphoto

Best Accessories Fujifilm X-T200 | The Essentials

Best Screen Protectors

The Fuji X-T200 has a new and very interesting screen. It looks like Fujifilm is catering more for filmmaking and the use of touch controls. Because the screen is such a centerpiece of this camera, it will be a good idea to add some protection to it. I always use screen protectors on my cameras and there is one brand that I keep coming back to.

Expert Shield Screen Protectors

Screen ProtectorAvailable At: coming soon

The reason I like Expert Shield is that they have a lifetime warranty so if you ever mess up your screen protector, they’ll send you a new one as long as you provide proof of purchase. They also might ask you to send a photo of the condition of your current screens so be sure to keep it if something happens. It’s great though, I’ve personally used their warranty and their customer service was really easy to work with.

That’s not the only reason I like Expert Shield, I also like that they make three different styles of screen protectors, Crystal Clear, Anti-Glare or Glass, and they’re all very good. This allows you to choose the best screen protector for how you’re going to be using your camera.

Best Batteries Fujifilm  X-T200

The Fujifilm X-T200 uses the same NP-W126s batteries as the other bigger cameras.

Fujifilm Official NP-w126s Battery

Fuji X-T200 BatteryAvailable At: Amazon

These are the official Fujifilm batteries. They are expensive and you can probably get through most of your shooting sessions with the single included battery then roll over to third-party as a backup. But if you like having more than one official battery, this is it. I personally have been using official batteries for my Fujifilm cameras lately. It seems like the overall system performs better and longer with fewer glitches.

Wasabi NP-W126s 2-Pack

Fuji X-T200 Third-Party BatteryAvailable At: Amazon

Wasabi makes one of my favorite third-party batteries. They’re always very consistent in their quality and they use lithium cells from Japan. They no longer bundle their batteries with a charger, so you will have to buy a charger separately. They make two different styles so you can choose which one works best for your needs.

Best Memory Cards Fujifilm X-T200

I have yet to test the memory card performance in the X-T200, but you can follow my guide for the X-T100 where I also recommend some of the best cards.

Fuji X-T200 Video Accessories

Since the Fujifilm X-T200 is now such a great option for video shooters and vloggers, I’m going to list a few of the nice video accessories I like.

We’re still waiting on some custom cages and leather body cases, but I can start the list off with some cool accessories you might need if you plan on running this camera in a filmmaker’s setup.

Best Video & Vlogger Mics Fuji X-200

The best part about the new Fuji X-T200 is they actually added a properly sized mic jack so you don’t have to get an adapter.

Here are the two mics that I have and that are great. Keep in mind, I do list the “best accessories.” You can also get pretty good cheap knockoffs.

Rode VideoMicro

Vlogger MicAvailable At: Amazon

The Rode VideoMicro is the best compact mic to throw on the top of your camera. It’s small, it will run off power from the 3.5mm stereo mic jack and it’s just good.

This is one of the best mics you can get for the price and is a must-have for the run and gun video shooter.

Rode Shotgun Pro

Pro Vlogger MicAvailable At: Amazon

If you’re looking for a nice mic for your studio or even for the road, the Rode Pro is a great option. It’s self-powering and takes a 9V battery, but also provides a pretty hot +20db signal that can be good for cameras that have noisy preamps, like the X-T200.

Rode Wireless Go

Wireless MicAvailable At: Amazon

One of the best wireless units you can get for the price is the Rode Wireless Go. It’s a small little kit that is very simple to use. With this linked kit, you just need to attach a lav mic and you’re good to go. There are also options for this setup that comes with a mic kit.

Best Camera Straps – Fuji X-T200

If you’re looking for a great strap for your X-T200 there are a few I can recommend that have made my life so much easier.

Peak Design Slide Lite Strap

Camera StrapAvailable At: Amazon

The slide strap by Peak Design is great because it’s so easy to take on and off of your camera. If you’re shooting video, or landscape photography or even street photography, a lot of times you’ll want to take off your strap. I personally only like to use a strap when I’m going from point-A to point-B, then switch to a wrist strap, and the peak design system makes that super easy.

Peak Design Cuff Wrist Strap

Camera Wrist StrapAvailable At: Amazon

The Peak Design Cuff wrist strap is one of the best wrist straps for the price and is fully compatible with the peak design ties. This makes switching around straps super easy.

X-T200 Cleaning Accessories

This is my basic least of cleaning accessories. You can find more on my full guide.

Air Blasters

This is one of those accessories that is a must-have. Not only do you need it to keep your camera and sensor clean, but it’s also useful for cleaning out your lens caps, and camera caps.

Rocket Air Blaster

Rocket Air BlowerRocket Air Small: Amazon

Rocket Air Medium:  Amazon

Rocket Air makes a few sizes of these. I have had them all and I’ve found the Medium works fine and provides enough air pressure to clean the dust off sensors.

Micro-Fiber Cleaning Cloths

These are must-have items. I’ve purchased this same pack a few times since they do get dirty over time and stop working as well. I also keep a few in all my different bags.

Micro-Fiber Cleaning Cloths 6-Pack

Micro Fiber ClothsAvailable At: Amazon

I’ve found when I’m out and about my T-Shirt is usually totally fine for cleaning UV filters or LCD screens. However, before I go out and shoot I microfiber cloths are the best way to clean your gear. Usually, I give my ND filters and my UV filters a good cleaning with microfiber before I go. Here is a great 6-pack I’ve bought several times. It’s nice to replace your micro-fiber cleaning cloths every now and then since they do eventually get oil buildup.

Sensor Brushes

Using a sensor brush is the second-best way to clean the dust off your sensor. Every so often you’ll see a few pieces of dust that are statically charged and won’t come off your sensor with the air blaster. That’s when the sensor brush comes in. Since I’ve started using the sensor brush, I haven’t had to use the “wet method” once.

Here are a few tips on how to use a sensor brush.

First – never touch the bristles with your fingers since your body oil will ruin the brush causing it to leave behind the oil on your sensor.

Second – use your Rocket Air Blower and blow some air on the bristles of your brush. This does two things; removes old debris, and creates a static charge on the bristles which will help it collect dust off your sensor.

Third – brush across the sensor, very gently a few times. When doing this, think about how you would brush your eyeball with the brush while causing as little pain as possible. Now brush your sensor like that. Make sense? Good.

I love my brush. It’s a must-have and I always keep one in my travel bag. This one here is German made, it’s the best.

Every so often you’ll get little particles stuck to the sensor that just don’t want to come off. This is when the sensor brush comes in.

Best Accessories Fujifilm X-T200 Conclusions

Usually, cheaper entry-level cameras like this don’t get a lot of love from third-party accessory companies, however, I suspect the X-T200 will be a hit. Fujifilm really polished out all the little annoying issues with the X-T100 and now the X-T200 is a very capable performer that can really hold it’s ground to the competition.

As more accessories come I’ll update the list.
