PNY cards have been known for being a less expensive option while still putting out great performance. Compared to other brands, the PNY cards are a midrange card. In terms of performance, they aren’t super fast, but they aren’t slow either. Sometimes some Sony cameras have issues with them, but Sony cameras have a lot of issues with a lot of things. So other than that, they are fairly reliable and one of the best SD memory cards for the price.

Real World Memory Card Performance
There are two versions of the PNY Elite Performance Cards, the PNY U1 cards and the U3 cards. The U3 cards run slightly slower with write speeds but they are rated to sustain 30MB/s. The U1 cards run a bit quicker but are only rated to sustain a guaranteed 10MB/s.
If you’re a video shooter, you should get the U3 memory cards to maximize reliability, especially if you’re shooting Sony. However, some Sony cameras seem to not like PNY and it’s totally random. So I don’t recommend PNY memory cards for Sony cameras.
