Benchmarks – USB-C Speed Tests.
I tested this card on a USB-C Windows 11 machine with an Intel 13900k using the Lexar CFexpress Type A reader on a USB 3.2 2×2 port. Although the read I use is only 10Gbps.
I use the AJA system test so I can simulate different video codec types. Here I’m using 16bit RGBA. I run several tests at 4GB and take the best scores. To find the real-world sustain speed, I run several tests writing 64GB and taking the slowest speed.
Card Tested | Write Speed | Read Speed | Sustain Speeds |
Lexar CFxA Silver Series 320GB | 776 MB/s | 861 MB/s | 687 MB/s |
After conducting my benchmarks, I can conclude that this card consistently performed better than the rated speeds which is nice to see. Lexar never disappoints with their cards.
Sustained Disk Writes
Here we can see the sustained disk writes through the 64GB write cycle. While the card is rated with a VGP-200 rating, meaning it is guaranteed to sustain 200MB/s, or 1600Mbps, we get consistent results much higher than that at an average of around 650MB/s, and lows of around 500MB/s.
From this chart, you can also see the peak write speed at around 850MB/s but it drops off after only a few Gigabytes. This card likely has a fast SLC cache of only a few Gigabytes, but still a very fast flash throughout the rest of the card.

Compatibility:
Designed specifically for Sony CFexpress Type-A cameras, this card ensures seamless integration with your gear. It’s an excellent choice for enthusiasts seeking reliable performance without breaking the bank and with the VGP-200, it can easily handle a 1600Mbps bitrate which is well above what any Sony camera currently demands.
