Kaza Deluxe makes some of my favorite leather cases, and their leather half case for the Fujifilm X-Pro 2 is no exception. These cases are awesome and are, without a doubt, the best bang for the buck, considering everything you get.
I’ve been using this case and the Kaza strap on my X-Pro 2 and couldn’t be happier. The cases are handmade, giving each one some unique character. They are imperfect, and shipping takes some time since they come from Hong Kong.

Build Quality & Materials
The build quality is good, but don’t expect it to be perfect. You’ll find many imperfections in the cuts and edging, which is to be expected when buying handmade products. Even Luigi’s straps are not perfect (but his are very close). That’s what gives these products character and makes them unique.
I’ve also been using this case a lot with a tripod and can happily report that the tripod mount at the bottom is very stable and secure.
The Leather
I’m not sure what type of leather they use. Their website just says cowhide. I don’t think it’s as bad as genuine leather, but maybe it is, and that’s why they paint their edges. It might just be top grain, but it is definitely not full grain. At least it doesn’t look or feel full grain, and if it was, the strap would be a lot more expensive. But I could be wrong here.
This is the main difference between a Kaza case and the LeicaTime / Luigi cases. Sure, his cases cost three times as much, but if you want a strap that will last you literally forever, the quality of Luigi’s leather is vastly superior.
Now, that doesn’t mean the Kaza case is bad, it’s totally fine and the case feels great and I have no doubt it will last the lifetime of the camera.
If you want something that looks cool, feels good in your hand, and provides extra protection for your camera, this case does the job perfectly. The price is very reasonable.
The Strap
The strap is okay; I’ve been using it without any problems. However, some bad cuts and edging are now wearing off my strap.
I wouldn’t buy this strap as a stand-alone strap; there are much better options. However, they included it with the cases, and it worked fine. Plus, the finish matches the case, which looks good.
The Stitching
The stitching is a nice addition, but it could use better quality control. When I got my case, it was beautiful, but there was one spot where the stitches were slightly loose. I’ll see how they hold up over the next few years.
Kaza Deluxe Leather Case – The Bottom Line
If you’re looking for a great leather case to protect your camera, add extra grip, and look cool, the Kaza Deluxe is probably one of your best options for the price. While more and less expensive cases offer different features and capabilities, the Kaza case looks beautiful and provides a great combo at a very fair price.
