A half case might be a good idea if you’re considering adding an extra layer of protection to your Sony A7r II.
I use leather cases on almost all my mirrorless cameras and have loved every one of them. The LIM’S genuine leather half case is no exception
LIM’S Sony A7rII / A7II Half Case Review
The LIM’S Leather Cases for the Sony A7rII are made very well. They come in lots of funky colors, but I ended up with black and red. The case does add a bit of weight to the camera but also gives it a solid, protected feel.

If they don’t have any on Amazon you can check out their website – LIM’S Design
I’m not sure where you would get these if Amazon doesn’t offer them. They’re from Korea.
What I Love
Fantastic built quality. The materials are all very high-end, and the assembly is very solid.
Protects the camera from scratches and wear and tear from tripods.
The red stitching.
The matte aluminum base plate.
The Suede interior.
Love the price.
What I Don’t Like
Although I really love the black and red, I wish they made a few more generic designs.
LIM’S Case vs Gariz Case
Both cases have a great feel. I’ve only used the Gariz Alcantara case on my Sony A7rII which I wasn’t a fan of. But I do like the regular Gariz leather material and use them on a few other cameras.
Gariz and LIM’s case is very similar. It almost feels like a designer left Gariz and started working for LIM’S.
Gariz can attach a strap to the base plate with special strap hooks, but I never use that and prefer the clean matte aluminum base plate on the LIM’S.

The lens you see is the Voigtlander 15mm Heliar III with the Voigtlander Leica M to E-Mount adapter. The strap is the Hard Graft Re-Process.
