A couple of miles out of Santa Barbara, California, is a small Danish town called Solvang. It feels as though Vikings built it one hundred years ago or something. Actually, they probably did, but I haven’t done my research on the place yet.
All the little gift shops and restaurants, even the architecture, are Danish-themed. I bought myself a little Viking Troll refrigerator magnet as a symbol of my Norwegian heritage. My name is Alik, after all. I think it means protector of mankind. I’ve yet to protect anything, though. At least not yet.
This photo is of a pizza place called Tower Pizza. Now, if you’re going to name your pizza place Tower Pizza, there better be a tower involved somehow. Well done, Tower Pizza of Solvang.
