While in Zion National Park this winter with my wife and other fam, we were just looking at one the views when my sister in law spotted a strange shape on the mountain. I just thought it was snow gathering on one of the trees but it seemed like it was moving. So I pulled out my Canon 70-200mm lens and slapped it onto my A7r and got a closer look. And lo and behold, a lone mountain climber.
This was my first time to the Zion National Park in Utah. I made the mistake of only only planning to be here for one day not realizing this place was so big with so much to do. All we had time to do was drive through and hike a couple trails. This time of year a lot of the trails were very icey or muddy, and it gets dark early so there wasn't really much more we could have done without some serious planning.
I have to say, I wasn't expecting the Zion National Park to be as epic as it was. It's a photographers paradise. Easily up there with Yosemite as far as awesomeness. Although I still think I might like Yosemite a little more. But we'll see, I'm planning to hike through the Narrows my next trip.
